Immersion Pro - Overview
Immersion Pro is a solid state heat exchange system
for beer brewing. It is capable of effectively heating
or cooling 30 litres of beer to 20°C above or below
ambient temperature.
Delays
To protect your solid state heat exchange chip,
the system will wait a period of 5 minutes before
moving from heating mode to cooling mode and
vice versa. The fan will continue to run while this
change occurs.
Probe Placement
Tape the probe to the outside of your fermenter at the
top of the liquid line, or in the upper 1/4 of the liquid.
This placement is very important during heating mode as
the top of your wort will warm up before the bottom. This
lag is more pronounced with heating than with cooling
because heat naturally rises and with the heat source at
the top of your fermenter, it will take a few hours for the
temperature change to make its way to the bottom of the
fermenter. So, to prevent your yeast from being cooked,
place the probe at the top of your fermenter.
Dead Band and Overshoot
There is a dead band of 0.2°C that prevents your system
from heating or cooling when within this range.
For example, if you set Immersion Pro to 20.1°C, it will cool
until it reaches 20.1°C. If the temperature naturally
increases to 20.3°C, Immersion Pro will turn on and
cool again until it reaches 20.1°C. If you are not using
a thermowell, expect Immersion Pro to overshoot your
set temperature by 0.1°C as it takes a little longer for the
temperature change to reach the outside of the fermenter.
If you are using a thermowell, your overshoot will
be minimal.
Without a thermowell, expect a temperature range of 0.3°C.
With a thermowell, expect a temperature range of 0.2°C.
Installation
• F/C Temp Selection: Press the BrewJacket logo
button and - button at the same time to select temp
format. Select °C or °F by pressing – or +.
Press BrewJacket button to save.
• Temperature Calibration: You should never need
to calibrate your unit, however if necessary, press
BrewJacket logo button and + at the same time.
The display will flash. Press + or - to set the correct
temperature. Press BrewJacket logo button to exit
calibration mode. Temperature will stop flashing.
• Rod: Remove protective cap from rod and tightly
screw into the head unit.
• Airlock: Blow into check valve (for lagers only, will
clog with ales) to learn which way air flows. Install
your choice of tubing and connectors that fit your
fermenter.
• Carboy/Bucket Jacket: Decompress jacket by placing
empty fermenter into jacket and allowing jacket to
puff back up.
• Conical Jacket: Visit brewjacket.com/compatible-
