Chapter 5: Final assembly and adjustments.
Check that the bunk doors have equal clearance top to
bottom on the left and right sides. If the Bed Cabinet is
leaning to one side, nudge it at the floor level.
• If you have a gap in the top-left corner or the legs hit on the
top right corner, the bottom needs to be shifted to the left.
• If you have a gap in the top-right corner or the legs hit on the top left corner,
the bottom needs to be shifted to the right.
Once the bed is level and square, you can now attach both Bottom Nailers to the
wall in the same
fashion as the top was previously attached.
STEP 3
If the beds squeak during
rotation, the pivot points can be
lubricated with WD-40 or silicone
spray. Once sprayed, you should
open and close the bed several
times to work in the lubricant.
Align the steel mechanism cover to the mechanism
and then slide downward. The top of the cover will
wrap around the mechanism with the two holes
towards the bottom. In the bottom hole (the hole that
aligns with the cylinder) insert
a wood screw from
Hardware Card #2 to secure.
STEP 5
FIG. 5C - LEFT SIDE COVER
Attach the Velcro straps for securing the mattress and
bedding. Attach near the midpoint of the ladder/long side
and about 6” in from the rails by inserting a screw and washer
through one end of the Velcro strap and into the back side of
the Bed Face Panel.
STEP 6
To determine the proper tension,
the mattresses needs
to be in place. When open, the ladders should rest on the
floor without lifting. When closed, the bed should stay closed
without falling back open. Tension is adjusted by either
adding or removing springs. If tension needs to be adjusted,
the Bed Face Panel can be removed (see the last page in
this booklet), however a
much easier method exists by using coins or washers
between the spring coils. For details of that method, visit:

STEP 4
Affix the clear sleeve envelope under the mattress and store
your instructions there for future use. The part labels can
now be removed,
but do not remove the warning tape. Any
shims sticking out can be cut off,
but do not pull them out.
