Is the bed securely attached to the wall?
Review Chapter 3, Step 4 and the warnings on that page.
Is the work area clear of children & pets?

The items listed on this page are some of the most common errors during assembly
and can lead to structural failure of the Murphy Bed if not done properly.
DO NOT PROCEED PAST THIS POINT WITHOUT FIRST VERIFYING THE FOLLOWING:
Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, verify all cams are locked to the
connecting cam screw.
Are all cam fittings locked?
Cam fittings should always face the same direction as shown in the
illustrations. Review the illustrations on the previous two pages for part
names and panel orientation.
Are all parts installed the correct
direction?
Slide the steel tube
over the top bunk
mechanism arms
and pull outward
to engage the arm
lock on the T-Nut as
shown in Fig. 4I.

The mechanism arm will have a
considerable amount of tension,
this is normal. That tension may
cause the arms to bend inward.
When installing bunks, push arms out.
