Inspection and Maintenance

Brave

1

. Remove the spark plug wire to prevent

the engine from starting.

2

. Use two 7/16 inch wrenches to remove

bolts (M) and locknuts (N) securing cover
plate (O).

3

. After draining the engine oil and

replacing the drain plug, reinstall cover
plate (O). Tighten bolts (M) and nuts (N)
securely and connect the spark plug wire.

Hydraulic Oil Change

Brave recommends an oil change every 100 hours of operation. Refer to the
“Specifications” section in this manual for the type and quantity of oil.

Important Notice

Never run the log splitter unless the hydraulic oil tank is full.

. Drain the hydraulic tank.

. Place a waste oil container under

inlet hose. (P)

b

. Loosen clamp (Q) and slide hose (P)

off of the hydraulic pump hose fitting.

c

. Completely drain the tank.

d

. Reconnect inlet hose (P) to the

pump.

e

. Make sure hose clamp (Q) is

completely tightened.
