Structure of the bladder-type accumulator

Structure of the gas valve
Fig. 3:
Bladder-type accumulators consist of a seamless cylindrical pressure vessel (1)
made of high-tensile steel.
The accumulator is subdivided into a gas and a fluid side by an elastic bladder (2)
mounted in the interior of the vessel.
When the operating pressure is increased, fluid is flowing into the bladder-type
accumulator and compresses the gas in the bladder until the gas pressure is
identical to the fluid pressure. When the operating pressure is reduced, the gas
expands again and feeds the hydraulic system with the fluid.
An oil valve (3) is situated in the oil port (4) of the bladder-type accumulator; it
is opened during operation. When the bladder-type accumulator is completely
discharged, the expanding bladder pushes the valve into the “Closed” position.
The exit of the bladder into the oil channel and its destruction are thus avoided.
