5.7 Gas connection
The gas connection for the instantaneous water heater must
comply with the Portuguese standards.
▶ Check whether the information on the device's data plate
accords with the gas type supplied/used.
▶ Install a gas isolator at the gas connection as close to the
device as possible.
▶ After the gas connection has been made, careful cleaning
and a test for leaks must be carried out; in order to avoid
damage through excessive pressure in the gas system, this
must be carried out with the gas isolator closed.
▶ Check whether the flow rate and pressure, which are
limited by the installed throttle valve, comply with the
values given for the device (see technical specification in
Tab. 6).
Gas connection with corrugated hose (LPG)
The following is to be observed when installing devices, which
are connected to butane gas bottles with (non-metallic)
corrugated hose :
• The hose must be as short as possible; maximum 1.5 m;
• It must comply with the Portuguese ET IPQ 107-1 and the
applicable standards.
• It must be accessible over its entire length;
• It must have sufficient clearance to heat sources;
• It must not be kinked or twisted;
• Suitable accessories and hose clips without grooves must
be used for the end connections
▶ Check the supply hose for cleanliness.
▶ Use the supplied hose accessories and a hose clip for the
connection at the gas inlet.
Connection to a mains gas supply
▶ If installation is made with a connection to the mains gas
supply, metal pipes must be used in accordance with the
applicable standards.

The supplied accessories must be used for the connection of
the instantaneous water heater to the mains gas supply:
▶ Screw the thread of the gas connection tightly.
▶ Weld the copper end to the pipework of the mains gas
supply.
5.8 Installation of the flue gas/air accessories
The installation of the accessories must be carried out in
accordance with the instructions in the relevant manual.
▶ After the pipework has been connected, it must always be
ensured after checking that there are no leaks.
DANGER: If the legal standards are not
observed, this can result in fire or explosion
with material damage and personal injury or
even death.
Use only genuine accessories.
In the case of connections with propane gas.
▶ The setting should be carried out in
accordance with the notice in Section
7.3.
DANGER: Danger to life from escaping flue
gas!
▶ Replace the corrugated hose, if it
becomes dried out or has cracks.
▶ Replace the corrugated hose every four
years at the latest.
DANGER: The flue must not have any leaks
after installation.
▶ Should this requirement not be met, flue
gas could enter the installation room,
which could result in severe injury or
death.
