7. VIEWING SOFTWARE SETUP
To begin using the viewing software, it must first be
installed. To install the software:
a. Make sure any older versions of the program are
removed if present on the PC.
b. Run the Setup-EXT5.0.5.13-XP-Vista.exe file
and follow the directions to complete the
installation.
c. If using Windows Vista, users must navigate to
installation directory, open “My Computer\C
Drive\Program Files\...\Video Surveillance\Local
Machine” and (type choose Application).
Right click on the file named “LocalMachine.exe”,
choose “properties -> Compatibility -> Privilege
Level” and enable the “Run this program as an
administrator” option.
The setup process installs the software and places a
shortcut to the Application Manager on the desktop and
creates a Video System in the Start menu.
Configure Firewall
When you start the viewer application, your PC may
prompt you to permit access to the network.
The installer includes two applications that need access to
the network:
