Checking display stability
¶
Detach the hose at the exhaust gas measurement
inlet of the BEA 060.
i
There must not be any engine exhaust gases, gaso-
line or cleaning agent vapors in the atmosphere in
the vicinity of the BEA 060.
Select "Diagnosis >> Engine/gas values" in the Bosch
Emissions Analysis. The current gas values are dis-
played following zero calibration and the HC residue
test.
Observe the display for approx. 2 minutes with regard
to limit values and stability.
Fluctuation error limits (noise):

The HC display must have settled after approx. 2 min-
utes to a value < 12 ppm by volume.
5.4.6
O
2
sensor
Over the course of time, the O
2
sensor is subject to
wear. The oxygen measurement zero point is constantly
monitored. In the event of deviation, the fault message
"
O2 sensor setting incorrect
" appears. This
message indicates the need for O
2
sensor replacement.
For details of O
2
sensor installation and setting, refer to
the fitting instructions 1 689 978 178.
!
Use is only to be made of a genuine O
2
sensor with
the designation BOSCH A7-11.5, CLASS R-17A
BOS, CLASS R-17A SIE or W79085-G4003-X (order
number 1 687 224 727).
The O
2
sensor contains an alkaline solution.
Alkaline solutions cause severe burns on
bare skin.
¶
Immediately rinse any areas of skin affected
with water and then consult a doctor.
¶
The O
2
sensor is a hazardous waste
product and must be disposed of sepa-
rately. Bosch franchised dealers will
ensure proper disposal of the sensor.
!
Old O
2
sensors are classed as hazardous waste and
must be disposed of in accordance with the ap-
plicable regulations. The disposal code is 16 05 02
(European waste catalog: EAK code). In addition,
these parts can be sent back to the manufacturer for
disposal.
5.4.7
NO sensor
Over the course of time, the NO sensor is subject to
wear. The NO measurement zero point is constantly
monitored. In the event of deviation, the following fault
message appears: "
NO channel setting outside
tolerance
". The NO sensor must then be replaced
and the NO channel re-adjusted (refer to program
description of test system).
!
Always use the genuine NO sensor (NOXO 100 Nitric
Oxide Sensor; order number 1 687 224 954).
The NO sensor contains acid.
Acids cause severe burns on bare skin.
¶
Immediately rinse any areas of skin affect-
ed with water and then consult a doctor.
¶
The NO sensor is a hazardous waste
product and must be disposed of sepa-
rately. Bosch franchised dealers will
ensure proper disposal of the sensor.

and must be disposed of in accordance with the
applicable regulations. The disposal code is 16 05 02
(European waste catalog: EAK code). In addition,
these parts can be sent back to the manufacturer for
disposal.
