Spring preload
Setting
It is essential to set spring
preload of the rear suspension
to suit the load carried by the
motorcycle. Increase spring
preload when the motorcycle is
heavily loaded and reduce spring
preload accordingly when the
motorcycle is lightly loaded.
Adjusting spring preload
for rear wheel
Make sure ground is level and
firm and park motorcycle.
Remove brake-fluid reservoir 1
from the holder, push the hose
down slightly and lay the reser-
voir on the Paralever link.
Use adjusting rings 2 and 3 to
adjust spring preload.
Release the lock by turning
adjusting ring
2 in direction b
with the tool from the toolkit,
while holding adjusting ring
3
with second tool from the
toolkit.
