Detach the large heat protec-
tion mat
1 from the battery.
Release the rubber tensioning
strap
2 and remove the small
heat protection mat 3 .
Slide back cover 1 of positive
battery terminal.
Begin by connecting one end
of the red jump lead to the
positive terminal
2 of the dis-
charged battery and the other
end to the positive terminal of
the donor battery.
Connect the black jumper ca-
ble to negative terminal on
the donor battery and then to
negative terminal
3 of the dis-
charged battery.
Allow the engine on the sup-
port motorcycle to run while
jump-starting.
Start engine of the vehicle with
discharged battery in usual
way; if engine does not start,
wait a few minutes before re-
peating the attempt in order to
protect the starter motor and
donor battery.
Allow both engines to run for
several minutes before discon-
necting the jumper cables.
Disconnect the jumper cable
from the negative terminal first,
then disconnect the second
lead from the positive termi-
nals.
To start the engine, do not
use start sprays or similar
items.
Attach cover panel 1 of the
positive battery terminal.
