Parallel route guidance via BMW and CarPlay

Android Auto preparation

Principle

Android Auto makes it possible to operate cer‐
tain functions of a compatible smartphone via
voice control and via iDrive.

General

Depending on the national-market version,
Android Auto may not be available. Contact a
Service Partner of the manufacturer or another
qualified Service Partner or a specialist workshop
for more detailed information.
Android Auto and the associated apps are provi‐
ded by the smartphone. The scope and content
depend on the device manufacturer and may
vary depending on the national-market version.
The following restrictions apply to a smartphone
connected via Android Auto:

▷

Not every app installed on the smartphone
can be operated via Android Auto.

▷

The smartphone cannot be paired as an addi‐
tional telephone.

▷

Only one further telephone can be connected
to the vehicle.

▷

Using Android Auto may incur mobile phone
costs. These costs are not included in the
cost of the optional equipment.

Operating requirements

The smartphone is connected to the vehicle.

Selecting Android Auto

Android Auto can be selected using various me‐
nus.
On the touchscreen via the status bar in the main
menu or via the display bar that appears:
