Care and maintenance work
Engine cleaning
C leaning work
For all cleaning work, make sure that no
pa rts are damaged (e.g. bent coo l er mesh).
Cover electrical/electro nic parts and con -
nections to c l eanthe engi ne (e . g . con t rol
units, generator , solenoid va l ves etc.). Do
not aim the water/steam jet directly at t he m.
Allow eng i ne to warm up.

when it is not running!
Remove the eng in e cover and cooling air
cover if available and remou n t after clean -
ing.
Genera l
The following causes of soili ng make ii necessary to
clean the engine:
•
High dust content in t he air .
•
Chaff and chopped straw in the area of the en-
gine.
•
Coo l ant leaks
•
Lu bricat ing oi l leakage
•
F ue l leaks
Because of the different application conditions,
clean ing depends on the degree of dirt contamina-
ti on.
Cleaning with compressed air
•
B low dirt off or out. A l ways b low out th e cooler
and cooling fi ns from t he exhaust air s ide to the
fresh a ir side.
C le aning with cold cleaner
•
Spray the eng i ne with co l d cleaner and leav e i t
fo r about 10 minutes to take effect.
•
Spray the engine clean with a high pressu re wa -
ter j et.
•
Warm up the engine so that t h e water res i dues
e vaporate.
Cleaning with a high pressure cleaner
•
Clean the e ng ine with a steam je t (maximum
spray press ur e 60 bar, max imum steam temper-
atu re 90 'C, distance at least 1m).
•
Warm up the eng in e so that the water residues
evaporate.
•
Atv.;ays clean t he cooler and cooling fins from the
exhaust air side to the fresh air side.
