Appendix B:
Surface-Mounting the Spectra
If you want to firmly mount your ServSwitch Spectra on a
flat surface—we’ll refer to this as the “mounting surface” in
the rest of these instructions—use the included mounting
plate. We recommend attaching the plate to the mounting
surface with either adhesive material or screws.
To surface-mount the Spectra with adhesive material,
you’ll need either (a) double-sided tape or adhesive
strips or (b) strips of Velcro
®
or similar hook-and-loop
material with adhesive on both sides. If possible, these
should be
thick
from top to bottom (between the
adhesive layers) and
narrow
from side to side. Once
you have these in hand, take these steps, referring to
Figure B-1 on the next page:
1. If you look at the bottom of the Spectra, you’ll see
that it has a recessed track with wraparound flanges
on either side. Slide the mounting plate into the
bottom of the Spectra along this track, so that the
plate’s elevated “wings” fit snugly into the flanges.
The Spectra will not lock into place, but if you slide
it all the way onto the plate, it will be very tightly
secured.
