Set Bluetooth connection options
1. Perform one of the following actions:
• If you are running BlackBerry device software
version 4.0 or 4.0.2, in your BlackBerry device
options, click
BlackBerry Smart Card Reader .
• If you are running BlackBerry device software
version 4.1, in your BlackBerry device options, click
Security Options
. Click
Smart Card
. Under
Registered Reader Drivers, click BlackBerry . Click
Driver Settings .
2. Set the following options:

Connection Heart Beat Period:
Set the maximum
connection heart beat period. Each period, the
BlackBerry sends a signal (heart beat) that is
acknowledged by the BlackBerry Smart Card
Reader. If the heart beat is missed by either the
BlackBerry device or the BlackBerry Smart Card
Reader, the Bluetooth connection stops.
•
Disconnected Timeout:
Specify the period of time
that passes after a Bluetooth connection ends
before pairing information is cleared.
