reset the IP address back to the previous value.
b) The way to prevent this from happening is to go to the send an
SNMP command to the device to disallow IP changes to be made. We
do not have this command on the user interface because once set the
IPSet program can no longer be used to change the IP address until an
SNMP command is sent to the box to undo this setting and allow the IP
address to once again be changed.
The command to disable the IP change is:
SNMPset <IP> <community> .1.3.6.1.4.1.3854.1.2.2.1.62.0 i X
Where:
IP
is the IP address of the device
community
default is "public"
X
can take 2 values:
1
(enable IP change),
2
(disable IP change).
NOTE
If the user forgets the IP address while this setting is in effect the device will be
unusable.
Q: Where can I find the MIB file for the device?
A: The MIB file for the device can be found in the help CD, under the
directory:
\utilities\mib\
Q: I cannot set the device to send mails?
A: Possible causes may be:
a) The SMTP server is entered is wrong.
