3.3 Typical Applications
Once you’ve set the MDI/MDI-X buttons and N-Way
switches on the Transmitter and Receiver, you’ll need to
determine which application you’ll use. See Figures 3-3
through 3-5.

In the application below, the converter is functioning as
a high-speed bridge between switches. This creates
increased capacity for each user (node) on the local
area network. It provides a 100-Mbps full-duplex link to
a variety of Fast Ethernet network devices within a LAN.
