8-Port DVI USB Module
2. Overview
2.1 Introduction
The 8-Port DVI USB Module allows you to control up to eight servers or
computers with DVI monitors and USB keyboards and mice from a single
KVT517A-WIDE. The module is not designed to be used by itself. It functions in
the same way as a ServSwitch
™
does when used with a ServTray
™
.
Using the module is an efficient way to manage multiple computers in server
rooms where space is at a premium. The on-screen display (OSD) features
computer naming, computer selection, status indication, AutoScan, and more.
The module has one DVI connector and one USB for each computer connection.
Use the OSD interface, hotkeys, or ServTray buttons to control the KVM switch.
Navigate through the OSD menus using function keys (see Section 4.2 for details).
Using a hotkey command sequence (see Section 4.3 for details), you can control
the KVM switch. The module beeps to confirm that it’s in hotkey mode.
The AutoScan function enables you to automatically scan and monitor all
computers, one by one, that are connected to the module. And the module
works with most common Windows
®
operating systems.
The module supports video resolutions of up to 2048 x 1152.
