CLEANiNG AND DiSPOSAL
• All surfaces in the work area should be vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned daily for the
duration of the sanding project. Vacuum filter bags should be changed frequently.
• Plastic drop cloths should be gathered up and disposed of along with any dust chips
or other removal debris. They should be placed in sealed refuse receptacles and
disposed of through regular trash pick-up procedures. During clean up, children and
pregnant women should be kept away from the immediate work area.
• All toys, washable furniture and utensils used by children should be washed
thoroughly before being used again.
ADjuSTmENTS
wARNiNG:
To prevent accidental operation, turn off and unplug tool before performing
the following operations.
Failure to do this could result in serious personal injury.

Attaching
• Loosen and remove the belt tracking knob (6).
• Check that the spring (10) is located in its mounting hole.
• Position the arm (4) as shown.
• Thread in belt tracking knob (6) and tighten it until the arm is aligned with the tool.
Removing
• Remove the sanding belt (if present) as described below.
• Loosen and remove the belt tracking knob (6).
• Remove the arm.

Attaching
• Move the belt tensioning lever (5) to the front position (A).
• Make sure that the arrows on the inside of the sanding belt face the same direction as
the arrows (13) on the housing.
• Place the sanding belt (11) over the front pulley (12) and the rear pulley (14), sliding it
through the slot in the housing.
• Move the belt tensioning lever (5) to the rear position (B).
• Adjust the belt tracking as described below.
Removing
• Move the belt tensioning lever (5) to the front position (A).
• Slide the sanding belt (11) off the pulleys.

• Switch the tool on by pressing the on/off switch (1).
• Turn the belt tracking knob (6) as required until the sanding belt runs straight along the
length of the arm.

Attaching
• Align the dust canister (8) or the deflector (9) with the tool as shown.
• Slide the dust canister or deflector onto the tool and ensure it is securely located.
Removing
• Pull the dust canister or deflector to the rear and off the tool.
wARNiNG: fire hazard.
Attach the dust canister before using the tool on wooden
workpieces. Remove the dust canister and attach the deflector before using the tool
on workpieces which contain metal.
OPERATiON
wARNiNG:
ALWAYS
use safety glasses. Everyday eyeglasses are NOT safety glasses.
wARNiNG: Severe abrasion hazard.
Always hold tool firmly with one hand on
the switch handle and the other hand on the secondary handle (3) as shown
in figure f. Never operate the Powerfile in an inverted stationary position.
• Let the tool work at its own pace.
• Do not overload.
