VARiABLE SPEED CONTROL (fiG. G)
The variable speed control allows you to adapt the speed of the tool to the workpiece material.
• Use a low speed setting when using a fine grit, when working with plastics or ceramics
and when removing painted or varnished surfaces. Use a high speed setting when
using a coarse grit and when removing a lot of material.
• Set the control knob (7) to the desired setting.
SwiTChiNG ON AND Off (fiG. h)
wARNiNG: Before plugging in the tool, always check to see that the switch
trigger activates properly and returns to the “off” position when released and
that either the dust canister (for non-metallic material) or the deflector (for
metallic material) is in place on the exhaust opening.
• To switch the tool on, press the on/off switch (1).
• To switch the tool off, release the on/off switch.
For continuous operation:
- Press the on/off switch (1).
- Press the lock-on button (2).
- Release the on/off switch.
• To switch the tool off when in continuous operation, press and release on/off switch (1).
DuST COLLECTiON
wARNiNG: To prevent accidental operation, turn off and unplug sander
before installing the dust canister (8) or deflector (9).
wARNiNG: fire hazard. Collected sanding dust from sanding surface coatings
(polyurethane, linseed oil, etc.) can self-ignite in sander dust canister or
elsewhere and cause fire.
To reduce risk, empty bag frequently and strictly follow
sander manual and coating manufacturer’s instructions.
wARNiNG:
fire hazard. when sanding wood that could contain nails or when
sanding metal surfaces, do not use the dust canister (8) or a vacuum cleaner
because sparks are generated. instead attach the deflector (9) with the open area
facing away from your body. wear safety glasses and a dust mask.
Due to the danger
of fire, do not use your sander to sand magnesium surfaces. Do not use for wet sanding.
EmPTYiNG ThE DuST CASSETTE (fiG. E)
The dust cassette (15) should be emptied every 10 minutes.
• Pull the dust cassette to the rear and off the tool.
• Remove the cover (17) by twisting it counter-clockwise.
• Hold dust cassette (15) with the filter (16) facing down and shake the cassette (15) to
empty the contents.
• Shake the cover (17) to empty the contents.
• Refit the cover onto the dust cassette (15), twisting it clockwise until it locks into place.
• Refit the dust cassette onto the tool.
CLEANiNG ThE DuST CASSETTE fiLTER (fiG. E)
wARNiNG:
Do not brush or use compressed air or sharp objects to clean the filter.
Do not wash the filter.
• The dust cassette filter (16) is re-usable & should be cleaned regularly.
• Empty the dust cassette (15) as described in “Emptying the Dust Cassette”.
• Pull the filter (16) off the dust cassette (15).
• Shake off the excess dust by tapping the filter (16) into a dustbin.
• Replace the filter.
• Fit the cover (17).
• Slide the dust cassette (15) onto the tool and make sure that it is securely located.

• Use the normal or narrow arm for general use, for slotting and for making joints.
