As soon as the Webbrowser establishes the link to the NEC-E with the correct IP address, all
chassis devices connected to the RS485 bus are listed on the first page.
Clicking on a device listed in the menu “Devices” leads to further webpages, which allow
supervision and adjustment of the selected device.
3.3.2 NMS Communication
The embedded network element controller NEC-E (or NEC-E in BK-mechanics) provides an HMS
compliant SNMP protocol for communication with the server of a central (umbrella) network
management system (NMS). SNMP MIBs are available on request.
The NMS can deal with the complete set of device management features by SNMP MIB, because
all management functions are implemented in SNMP. Alarms are indicated by traps. Of course,
decentralized network element controller access by Webbrowser is simultaneously available.
