HOW TO PUT ON YOUR CUFF
It is important to avoid smoking, eating, taking medication, consuming
alcohol, and any physical activity 30 minutes before taking your blood
pressure. If for any reason, you cannot or should not use your left wrist,
modify the instructions to apply the cuff on your right wrist. Your doctor
can help you identify the best wrist for taking the measurement.
1.
Remove any tight clothing or jewellery that may interfere with
positioning the cuff.
2.
Sit at a table or desk with your feet flat on the floor.
3.
Place the back of your hand on the blood pressure monitor box, palm
up, so that the device is at the same level as your heart.
4.
Apply the pre-shaped cuff to your wrist so the digital display is facing
you.
5.
Adjust the cuff to about 1 cm away from your hand.
6.
The cuff should fit comfortably, but be snug around your wrist.
Blood pressure varies naturally from one wrist to another; measure
your blood pressure on the same wrist so that the measurements
are comparable.
