5.4. Filters
Removing the nose cone exposes a hydrophobic
fi
lter (0.45 micron), located
at the top of the nose piece. The
fi
lter protects the Midi Plus from accidental
overaspirations. It is strongly recommended to use only the original
fi
lters
supplied by the manufacturer with the Midi Plus. Both sterile and non-sterile
fi
lters are available (see 7.2. Changing the nose cone, silicon adapter or
fi
lter).
Note:
The Midi Plus cannot be operated without a
fi
lter. Wetting of
fi
lter
due to over
fi
lling will slow or prevent
fl
uid movement. If over
fi
lling occurs,
change the
fi
lter immediately.
5.5. Support
The Midi Plus also features an attached
support for placing the unit on the table
between the dispensing routines with a
pipet attached (Fig. 4).
6. OPERATING THE MIDI PLUS
6.1. Adjusting the operating speed
Select the desired speed by turning the linear
speed adjustment wheel (Fig. 5). The speed
selection can be easily accessed as the height of
the indicator column corresponds to the selected
speed.
Note:
The aspiration and dispensing speeds
can be
fi
ne-tuned during operation by applying
a varying amount of finger pressure to the
operating buttons.
6.2. Inserting a pipet
Gently push a pipet into the silicone adapter and ensure that it
fi
ts securely.
To insert the pipet safely, hold the Midi Plus from above the nose cone and
the pipet from the top end of the tube.
