8.6 Message window
The base has a two-digit LED display to provide information about the
status of the answering machine, as shown in the table below:
No display (blank screen)
Answering system is off.

Indicates incoming message recording in
progress.

Current message number during playback.

remotely and the number indicates the
total number of messages.
L0 - L5
(steady on)
Indicates the telephone base volume level
when adjusting during call screening,
playback or ringing. If L0 is selected, the
speaker will be turned off for that mode.
8.7 Answering machine settings
If you wish, you can change some of the answering machine functions from
their default settings, using the menu system on a cordless handset.
8.7.1 Your outgoing announcement (OGA)
When the answering system answers a call, the pre-recorded outgoing
announcement is played to the caller unless you have recorded your own
outgoing announcement.
