Before using the device, please make sure there is
no or minimal background noise, as TV, radio, air
conditioning system, traffic sound, etc.
When your baby is crying, slide the power switch
(11) to the ON position.
Place Cry Translator at about one foot (30 cm)
from your baby, making sure that its microphone is
directed towards her mouth, and press the “Start”
button.
The icon indicating the reason why your baby is
crying will light up within 5 seconds.
In the second part of the “How to calm your baby”
booklet provided together with this device, you will
find the suggested tips to soothe your baby accor-
ding to the reason why your baby is crying.

It is not unusual for babies to cry for more than one reason,
particularly when they have been crying for a while.
E.g.: The baby starts crying because she is hungry, but a
delay in feeding her on time makes the baby upset and
induces in her a feeling of discomfort or discontent. Thus,
the baby will add to her hunger cry-type the discomfort
cry-type.
In this case, Cry Translator will show alternatively both
reasons: hunger and discomfort.
