Status LED
LED green The device is connected to the power supply. The consumer is supplied with mains
power and the internal battery is charging.
LED yelllow The power supply is interrupted. The consumer is supplied with power from the
internal
battery.
LED red
The power supply is interrupted and the charge level of the internal battery is low.
In this case, the UPS cannot supply the connected load with power for much longer.
Intended use
The SmartUPS serves exclusively for the power supply of electrical devices with 12V 5A in the
private and commercial sector, the intendet use of which does not prohibit this.
It is to be used exclusively in dry interior rooms, in which the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50 °C.
The input current (INPUT) of your device may not excess the maximum output (OUTPUT) of this
product!
The intended use also includes compliance with all information specified in this manual. Any use
otherthan the intended use is considered incorrect use.
Connecting and Operating
Setup
1. Compare the technical data of all devices used and ensure their compatibility.
2. Connect your 12V device to the output connector of the UPS.
3. Connect the SmartUPS to a 230V socket using the power supply unit supplied. The UPS
switches on automatically and supplies the output with power. The status LED lights green
and the internal battery is charging.
4. To switch off the device, take the device off the mains and press the red button on the side for
about 1 second. The UPS will shut down until the next time you connect it to power. Disconnect
all cable connections after usage.
Operating
Interrupted power supply
If the input voltage is disconnected or if there is a power failure, the UPS switches to battery
operation so that the connected load continues to be supplied with power. The LED flashes yel
-
low and the battery discharges over time. When switching to battery operation, you will receive a
notification via SMS.
Low battery charge level
When the battery is low, the LED lights up red. In this case, the UPS cannot supply the connected
load with power for much longer. You will receive a new notification via SMS, informing you that
the battery is soon empty.
Returning power supply
When the UPS is plugged in again or the power returns, the LED will turn green again and the
UPS will start charging the battery while the load is powered from the mains. You will receive a
notification via SMS that the mains voltage has been restored.
Telephone number setup for receiving notifications
1.
Check the UPS identification plate for the telephone number and serial number of the UPS
(Example see Fig. 2 Identification plate).
2. Connect the UPS to power (the Status LED lights up green).
3. Wait 20 - 30 seconds after switching on.
4. Send an SMS with the 7-digit serial number from the telephone number with which you want
to receive the notifications to the telephone number on the identification plate.
5.
You will receive a notification via SMS for confirmation.
Note: Locking of SIM card
Please avoid frequent plugging and unplugging of the UPS to prevent the SIM card in the
device from being locked if too many notifications are being sent. If your SIM card is being
blocked nevertheless, please have the serial number and phone number of the device at
hand and contact:

Use of SIM card
We hereby explicitly prohibit the use of the SIM card, or the telephone number, for other
purposes. If this is not complied with, the SIM card will be permanently locked.
Maintenance
The SmartUPS should be connected to the mains supply for 2-3 hours at least once every 3
months in order not to unnecessarily strain the life of the internal batteries and to prevent them
from being damaged, for example by deep discharge.
