Using the laser
The use of controls, settings or operation other than those specified here may result in the risk of exposure to hazardous
radiation. Heavy knocks may affect the laser's accuracy. Avoid knocking the laser casing.
Mark the cutting line so that it is clearly visible.
Place the skid against the work piece.
Set the laser's switch to ON.
Adjust the laser line until it is in line with the marked cutting line. The blade is now in the correct position to make
the required cut.
Press the power switch to turn on the saw.
When the blade has reached full speed, slowly feed the blade into the work piece. Release the blade guard when the
blade starts to cut.
Do not force the saw. Let the saw make the cut at its own speed.
Only saw straight lines. If you try to cut a curve, the blade bends, which can lead to personal injury or damage to
the tool.
If you must stop during a cut, turn off the saw and allow it to stop completely before removing it from the material.
Switch off the laser lamp when you have finished cutting.
Laser safety
Never look directly into the laser beam or point the laser at anybody. The laser beam can cause eye injury. The
laser may only be pointed at the work piece.
Never point the laser at reflective surfaces. The laser beam can be reflected towards the eyes and cause damage.
Shiny or metallic surfaces must not be cut with the laser turned on.
Do not try to increase the laser power. If you make changes to the laser there is a risk of personal injury.
Replacing batteries
The laser is powered by two AAA type batteries that are under the switch. When the laser's light starts to become weak,
replace both batteries. Remove the batteries before the circular saw is put away. The batteries can leak and cause
damage.
1.
Open the battery compartment cover.
2.
Ensure that the batteries are correctly positioned according to the markings for plus/minus on the compartment.
3.
Close the door.
