2 Safety
2.1 Introduction
This section provides an overview of all the important safety aspects for
ensuring optimum protection of personnel and safe, trouble-free operation.
Failure to comply with the directions and safety instructions contained in this
manual can give rise to serious risks.
2.2
Operator‘s responsibility
The machine/equipment is used in the commercial sector.
Its operator is therefore subject to statutory health and safety requirements.
The safety, accident prevention and environmental regulations for the
machine‘s/equipment‘s area of use must therefore be complied with in addition
to the health and safety instructions contain in the instruction manual.
The following requirements are especially important:
• The operator must read up on the current industrial safety regulations and
carry out a risk assessment to identify any additional risks arising from the
particular working conditions where the machine/equipment is used.
There must be translated into operating instructions for the
machine/equipment.
• For the entire time the machine/equipment is used the operator must check
whether the operating instructions that have been drawn up are in accordance
with the latest version of the regulations and amend them accordingly if
necessary.
• The operator must assign and define responsibility for installation, operation,
maintenance and cleaning unambiguously.
• The operator must ensure that all employees using the machine/equipment
have read and understood the instruction manual.
He must also train the employees and inform them about risks at regular
intervals.
