Select a metering mode:
Center Mode:
Center metering also allows you to meter for the subject in the center of
the frame but the range increases. It’s about 50% the area of the whole
frame and the rest of the frame is ignored.
Point (Spot) Metering Mode:
Point metering allows you to meter for the subject directly in the center of
the frame. It’s a small circle about just 10% the area of the whole frame and
the rest of the frame is ignored. This mode is very useful for brightly backlit
or macro shots.
Average Mode:
This mode averages the exposure of the entire frame but gives extra weight
to the center.
3.1.5.7. Setting AE-Lock function (AE-LOCK)
This main item allows you to set AE-Lock (Automatic Exposure Lock) function. By
setting the Automatic Exposure Lock function, you are able to lock the cameras
calculated exposure settings (including aperture and shutter speed) over a series of
images. This fuction is very important for producing panoramas. When you combine
images together, each image should have the same exposure.
To set AE-Lock function:
Enter the AE-Lock sub-menu.
Select a AE-Lock function mode:
AE-Lock Mode (AE LOCK):
Setting the AE-Lock function on.
AE-Lock Off Mode (AE UNLOCK):
Setting the AE-Lock function off.
AE-Lock Reset Mode (AE-LOCK RESET):
Resetting the AE-Lock function under AE-Lock mode.
