3.7 It is also possible to install this appliance into a studded cavity providing it
complies to the following requirements:
•
The installaon must have an insulated flue with a minimum diameter of 125mm
(5”) diameter and a minimum effecve overall height of 3 metres and comply with
BS EN 1856-2 (metal flue pipes for appliances).
Under no circumstances should a
flexible liner be used in this type of installa>on.
•
The top outer face of the firebox should be insulated to prevent heat loss with a
layer of mineral wool insulaon or similar.
•
The appliance must stand on a non-combusble surface with a minimum thickness
of 12mm.
•
The cavity void must be well venlated with provision for airflow to enter and exit
at the base and top of the enclosure. The minimum venlaon should be 100cm
2
at the base and 100cm
2
at the top.
•
Ensure that non combusble board is used to create the opening for the appliance
and at least 200m each side and 75mm at the rear of the appliance must be
maintained to allow airflow around the appliance.
•
No combusble materials should be used within this opening.
