Commissioning BelAir100SN Units
This chapter shows you how to commission the installed BelAir100SN units to
make sure they meet the goals of the RF plan and site survey. Specifically,
commissioning verifies the following:
• that the correct members of a mesh cluster form a mesh
• that the correct backhaul radio associations are occurring
• that the actual Remote Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) values of the link are
close to the planned values
To meet the goals of the RF plan and site survey, commissioning the
BelAir100SN may involve adjusting the unit settings to compensate for
deviations to the plan.
Commissioning
Process
Use the following general process:
1 Power up two units and verify their settings with the following command:
/interface/wifi-<m>-<n># show config backhaul
The output of this command displays the MAC address of the associated
backhaul radios and their RSSI value.
2 Adjust the units as required. Refer to the
BelAir100SN User Guide
for more
details.
3 Power up the next unit and verify its settings. Adjust the unit as required.
4 Repeat step
until all units are on-line.
Field Testing the
Units
You can use two testing methods:
• remote testing
• local testing
Remote Testing
Remote testing involves connecting the unit containing the gateway to the
network backbone. In remote testing, a remote operator uses commands such
as the one described in
“Commissioning Process” on page 53
to verify
parameters. Some adjustments may be implemented remotely while other
adjustments may require actions by the local installer. Remote testing uses a
“live” network to test the units.
