6.3 PM motor
PM Motor Control
is provided as standard on the Beijer Frequency Inverter P2. An application
note is provided as additional information for this function.
The objective of using a PM motor in combination with Beijer Frequency Inverter P2 is to
realize the high efficiency and savings, in combination with smooth and responsive
performance and smaller motor frame sizes which can be achieved.
Beijer Frequency Inverter P2 provides
Open Loop PM Motor Control
, there is no facility for
operation of PM motors in closed loop or for any internal positioning functionality.
The Beijer Frequency Inverter P2
PM Motor Control
algorithm is suitable for both Surface
mounted (SPM) and rotor inbuilt (IPM) permanent magnet motors. Brushless DC motor control
is realizable, but it is important to first consult technical support for additional data and advice.

6.4 PLC
BFI Tools is a PC based commissioning and programming software that can be used with all
drives in the BFI-series. With multi drive support and PLC programming possibilities it greatly
extends the functionality compared to configuring a drive via the keypad.

to store parameter changes
Up Button
Used to increase speed in
real-time mode or to increase
parameter values in
parameter edit mode
Down Button
Used to decrease speed in
real-time mode or to decrease
parameter values in
parameter edit mode
