5.0 Maintenance
Provided it is used in accordance with the Instruction Manual, the
instrument needs no special maintenance. If it should become
soiled in the course of daily use, it may be cleaned with a damp
cloth and a little mild household detergent.
Never use aggressive cleaners, or solvents.
To maintain accuracy, the instrument must be regularly calibrated
by our Service Department. We recommend annual calibration.
5.1 Changing the battery
If the symbol “ “ appears in the upper left corner of the dis-
play, the battery must be changed.
This is carried out as follows:
4
Separate the
UNITEST Clamp Meter CHB 7 or UNITEST Clamp
Meter CHB 37
from any circuit, and remove the test leads.
4
Switch the instrument off.
4
Open the housing by removing the 3 screws on the rear face.
4
Remove the old battery.
4
Fit a new battery (type 9 V 6LR61), taking care that the polarity
is correct. Make sure that no wires are trapped between the 2
halves of the housing, and close it again.
4
The instrument is now ready for further use.
Please think of our environment when you dispose of your used
batteries. They belong in a rubbish dump or a retuse collection
place for hazardous waste.
Please, comply
with the appropriate regulations concerning
the return, recycling and disposal of used batteries and
accumulators.
If the instrument is likely to remain unused for a long period,
the battery must be removed. If a battery should leak inside
the housing, return the instrument to our works for cleaning
and checking.
