6.3 Battery Replacement
The Sound level meter is equipped with an integrated battery capacity display. He-
reby, the battery capacity is periodically checked and shown as follows.
Full battery partly discharged blinking: battery empty
The battery capacity will also be displayed if the external power supply unit
is connected.
The battery has to be replaced as soon as the symbol starts blinking.
Prior to storage battery replacement, disconnect the instrument from any cu-
rent circuits.
Only batteries in compliance with the technical data section may be used
• Remove the cover of the battery compartment.
• Insert the new 9V battery.
• Replace the battery cover.
Reverse polarity of batteries may destroy the instrument. Furthermore, they
may explode or ignite.
Please consider your environment when you dispose of your one-way batte-
ries or accumulators. They belong in a rubbish dump for hazardous waste.
In most cases, the batteries can be returned to their point of sale.
If an instrument is not used over an extended time period, the accumulators
or batteries must be removed. Should the instrument be contaminated by lea-
king battery cells, the instrument has to be returned for cleaning and inspec-
tion to the factory.
