Operation
The user interface of the Remote Control PRO
consists of a touch ring for menu navigation, two
configurable favourite buttons (A and B) and an
e-paper display. The favourite buttons are preset
with On / Off (press and release) and dimming
(press and hold) functions and can be individually
configured in the BEGA Smart app. The touch
ring allows you to scroll between different menus
displayed on the e-paper display. Luminaires can
also be dimmed and their colour and saturation
changed, provided these functions are supported.
The touch ring also features two push buttons –
see figure 1.
Wake-up mode
Press any button on the PRO Remote Control to
wake it from stand-by and make it visible in the
Zigbee network. This mode can be used to allow
the Coordinator to find the PRO Remote Control
during a device scan. This identification mode stops
after 60 seconds if it is not cancelled manually.
The PRO Remote Control goes into sleep mode to
save battery and must first be woken up to operate
the BEGA Smart System.
Initial set-up
After installing a coordinator, the configuration is
carried out using the BEGA Smart app. The PRO
Remote Control is added to the BEGA Smart
system as a component and then configured in
the app. Before using the remote control, the
insulating strip on the battery must be removed.
To do so, twist the cover anti-clockwise and
remove it. Carefully pull out the insulating strip.
The Data Matrix code on the e-paper display is
used for the initial set-up. If it is not visible, press
any button. If the Data Matrix code still does not
appear, reset the PRO Remote Control to factory
settings (see below). The PRO Remote Control
must be in the factory settings in order to be
configured successfully. Download and run the
BEGA Smart app from the App Store or Google
Play Store. Select “Add device” in the app and then
“PRO Remote Control”. Follow the instructions
provided. Upon successful installation, the Data
Matrix code will disappear from the e-paper display.
Wall mounting bracket
The PRO Remote Control can be mounted in a
secure location on the wall using the wall mounting
bracket included in the delivery. The PRO Remote
Control is held in the bracket magnetically.
