Filling the Water Tank
1. Open the water tank lid (

).
2. Pour the quantity of water required for the number of cups you want (maximum 10 cups)
into the water tank (
13
).
3. Close the water tank lid. It must click audibly into place.
All of the water in the water tank is always used, regardless of the set number of cups or
coffee strength.
Adding Coffee Beans
1. Take off the lid of the coffee bean compartment (

).
Ensure that the water tank (
13
) is closed so that no coffee beans can fall into the water
tank.
2. Fill the coffee bean compartment (
2
) with coffee beans. Do not over
fi
ll it!
3. Place the lid back on the coffee bean compartment.
When you switch to another type of coffee, there will still be coffee powder from the
previous type in the grinder shaft
(

). The grinder shaft may need to be cleaned before-
hand (see the “Cleaning and Care” chapter | “Cleaning the Grinder Shaft”).
Setting the Grinding Fineness
Twist the coffee bean compartment (

) to the right or left so that the scale arrow on
the coffee bean compartment points to the position with the grinding
fi
neness you want

).
Five different levels can be chosen:
–
all the way to the left:
fi
nest grinding level
–
all the way to the right: coarsest grinding level
When you switch to another grinding strength, there will still be coffee powder with the
previous grinding strength in the grinder shaft
(

). The grinder shaft may need to be
cleaned beforehand (see the “Cleaning and Care” chapter | “Cleaning the Grinder Shaft”).
Inserting the Filter
1. Press the release button for the
fi
lter compartment (

).
2. Insert
the
fi
lter insert (

) into the
fi
lter compartment.
3. Insert the permanent
fi
lter (
17
) or a basket
fi
lter paper into the
fi
lter insert (

4. Close
the
fi
lter compartment again. It must engage audibly.
