Bedrock AM100 operating manual

Through the settings menu, three options for settings the input signal frequency can be
chosen:

• Automatic. The fundamental frequency is estimated from the output signal
• Snapped to 1/1 or 1/3 center frequencies. The fundamental frequency is estimated

automatically, but rounded to the nearest 1/1 or 1/3 octave

• Fixed. The frequency is entered through a keyboard.

Settings screen of the THD+N module

Setting the test signal frequency is done through the settings menu, which also lets you
choose between two different definitions of THD+N: based on THDR (default) or THDF.

In case of THDR, the total signal level is used as a reference for computing THD+N. In

case of THDF, the reference is the estimated level of the fundamental frequency only.

AES17 calls for THDR, while THDF is perhaps a more intuitive definition that is also

used by various other measuring instruments.

THD+N constitutes a relatively complex subject matter, a full description of which is
beyond the scope of this manual. We recommend studying online reference materials and
tutorials on THD for more information.
