DANGER
Danger to life due to unexpected start-up
The following steps are mandatory when preparing for maintenance and servicing activities:
1.
Switch off the VADS 1500+ and all attached assemblies.
2.
Switch off the power supply and secure against unintentional restart or disconnect the drive from the
supply voltage.
3.
Disconnect from air supply

In the event of malfunctions, the VADS 1500+ must be shut down immediately.

Safe operation of the machine can no longer be guaranteed outside the permitted operating parameters. The
limits of the permissible operating parameters are shown in chapter 10.2.
2.14 MAINTENANCE/MAINTENANCE
Maintenance and servicing is carried out according to the company‘s internal procedure. Before maintenance and
servicing work is carried out, access to the machine area concerned must be cordoned off and marked. Unauthorised
persons are to be expelled from the cordoned-off machine area.
The intervals for maintenance and servicing specified in chapter 9.1 must be observed.
Maintenance and servicing activities may only be carried out by appropriately qualified personnel. The qualification of
the personnel can be found in chapter 2.4.
For maintenance work, the machine must be shut down and secured against being switched on again. In addition, a
warning sign must be attached to the mains disconnection device.
All motors must be individually isolated. Maintenance during operation or when the machine is switched on is strictly
prohibited.
If safety devices have to be dismantled or modified for maintenance and servicing purposes, they must be refitted,
adjusted and tested immediately after completion of the maintenance and servicing activities and before the VADS
1500+ is started.
When carrying out maintenance and servicing work, the following safety instructions must be observed in addition to
the safety instructions in chapter 2 of this manual:
•
Use appropriate tools and handle with care.
•
Personal protective equipment must be used to prevent injury from tools or components.
•
The maintenance area must be kept clean and tidy. Objects lying around can be a tripping hazard.
•
Heavy components must be secured against falling and tipping before they are detached from the machine.
•
If anything is unclear, consult the supervisor or the manufacturer.

Potentially fatal hazards due to improper work on the VADS 1500+
Work and tasks on the machine electrics, machine hydraulics and machine pneumatics may only be carried
out by skilled personnel who can provide evidence of successfully completed and recognised training in the
respective specialist field and who have been instructed in the special technical features of the VADS 1500+.
The performance of electrical or pneumatic work, including the simplest auxiliary activities, is prohibited without
exception for persons who do not fulfil the above conditions.
