installed in the designated place and checked for proper function. The prescribed testing and replacement intervals
for protective devices must be observed and complied with. Protective devices may only be maintained, replaced and
serviced by specially trained, instructed and authorised personnel.
Safety-related parts of the VADS 1500+ could be damaged or disabled by unauthorised intervention and manipulation.
Unauthorised tampering with the safety-related parts of the VADS 1500+ along with any adjustable components is strictly
prohibited and must be reported immediately to the person responsible for the VADS 1500+.
Only welding work approved by the manufacturer may be carried out on the VADS 1500+.

Danger to life due to welding work
Welding on pump housings is generally prohibited. Welding work is only permitted with the express permission
of the manufacturer. Welding work may only be carried out by professionally trained, instructed and authorised
personnel.
Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory for all work on the VADS 1500+.
2.8 PROTECTIVE MEASURES FOR USERS
When working on the VADS 1500+, personal protective equipment must be worn to minimise health hazards.
The necessary protective equipment for the respective work must be worn at all times during work. Personal protective
equipment notices posted in the work area must be followed.

Risk of injury to hands due to crushing, cutting and high temperatures
During all work on the VADS 1500+, appropriate hand protection must be worn.

Risk of injury to feet from crushing and falling objects
Foot protection must be worn during all activities on the VADS 1500+.

Hearing damage due to high volume
Hearing protection must be worn during activities that must be carried out while the VADS 1500+ is in operation.
Hand protection must be provided by the operator and must be suitable for the activities to be carried out and comply
with the applicable standards (e.g. EN 388:201903).
Foot protection must be provided by the operator and must be suitable for the activities to be carried out and comply
with the applicable standards (e.g. DIN EN ISO 20345:202006).
Hearing protection must be provided by the operator and must be suitable for the noise levels generated and comply
with the applicable standards (e.g. DIN EN 3527:200304).
2.9 DISCLOSURES ON RESIDUAL RISKS
The VADS 1500+ meets the technical standards and was built according to the recognised safety rules. To avoid danger
to the user or damage to the machine, the VADS 1500+ may only be used for its intended use (see chapter 2.6 „Intended
use“) and in a safe and technically perfect condition.
The hazards identified were considered in the risk assessment and sufficiently mitigated so that there is no unacceptable
risk when used as intended. Nevertheless, risks and impairments can occur when using the VADS 1500+.

for the operators or third parties,

for the VADS 1500+ itself or
•
in other tangible assets arise.
The hazards and risks in the respective life phases of the VADS 1500+ are described below. It is essential to observe the
following hazard warnings.
