• The first charge is not representative with respect to its duration. The operation of a
lithium battery on the first charge is the same as that of the following charges, so no
maximum charge is required at the beginning.
• No first complete discharge and charge is required at first.
• The memory effect is the loss of battery charge capacity due to incomplete charges.
Li Ion batteries produce a minimum memory effect, so charging them incompletely does
not mean irreparable damage to them. It is recommended to fully charge them once
every some time.
• If it is to be stored for a long period, it is recommended to do so with an approximate
load of 40 %. This will ensure that it maintains its characteristics and service life.
• Check that the battery is not too hot when connecting it to the charger. If so, allow it
to cool, leaving it in a cool, dry place for about 30 minutes.
• Check that the charger is disconnected from the power grid.
• Mount the battery correctly in the charger. Allow it to lock in; you will hear a click when
this happens.
• Plug in the charger. The red LED on the charger will light up.
• When the charging is complete, the green LED will light up and the red LED will turn
off.
• Press the unlock button from the battery and remove it from the charger.
• When repeatedly using the charger to charge several batteries, let the charger cool
down before charging another battery. It is recommended that the cooling period should
not be less than 30 minutes.
NOTE:
If the green light comes on immediately or within a few minutes when a
discharged battery is installed, the battery is likely to be very hot, so wait until it cools
down. It may also be in poor condition or have reached the end of its useful life. In the
latter two cases, it is recommended to replace the battery.
Charging procedure
WARNING!
To prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury,
always remove the battery pack from the product when assembling parts.
Remove battery pack. Invert the string trimmer to access the trimming spool. Using a
Phillips head screwdriver, remove the pre-installed spool from the string trimmer.
Place the guard on to the line cutting spool so that the large part of the guard sits to the
rear (Fig 3, Page 69).
Align the screw hole in the guard with the screw hole on the cutting line spool. Insert the
screw into the cutting line spool, fastening the guard in place (Fig. 4, Page 69).
Remove the protective tape from the cutting line (Fig. 5, Page 69).
To avoid injury, adjust the auxiliary handle for optimum control and balance of the tool.
Do not overreach when operating the string trimmer. Keep proper balance at all times
for better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
The auxiliary handle can be moved either up and down the shaft, forward and
backwards or rotated 360 ° around the shaft. In order to find your optimum position,
unlock the lock lever of auxiliary handle by pulling it outwards (Fig. 6, Page 69). Once
you have reached the desired position, push the lock lever of auxiliary handle back in
place.
