USB connector (4)
The USB connector is only used
for service purposes. This port can’t be used to program the
device.
Ethernet connector (5)
The Serial.link has two Ethernet ports with integrated Ethernet switch to daisy chain to other
devices. Both ports have equal importance.
RS232 connector (6)
Can be used to connect to a home automation system by serial RS232 connection.
2.
Communication settings
The Serial.link can communicate with the home automation processor using RS232 or TCP/IP. The
settings of both protocols are described below.
2.1
RS232
- baud rate
:
38400
- data bits
:
8
- stop bits
:
1
- parity
:
No
The DB9 connector of the processor must be as follow:
TX
Pin 3
RX
Pin 2
Ground
Pin 5
Note: The ground of the Serial.link must be connected with the ground of the home automation
processor.
When using a processor as master device and the serial hub as a slave, the RX from the master is
the TX from the slave. So the TX from the master is the RX from the slave.
