It is important that the outboard is installed at the correct height. If it is

mounted too high, air will enter the propeller area and cause cavitation. This will cause

loss of drive, noisy operation and loss of maximum potential speed. If it is mounted

too low, it will cause excessive drag in the water, using more power. In shallow water

it may become restricted and hit the bottom causing damage to underwater

components.

•

Fit the outboard to the boat, securing with the thumb screws on the transom.

•

Holes are provided to drill through and enable additional bolts to secure the outboard

to the transom.
