4.5 REMOTE CONTROL

4.5.1 General

The RS-485 Remote Control connector is a 9-pins SubD male connector. All important modulator
parameters such as RF level, modulation depth, audio deviation and all possible functional selections
can be remotely controlled from a PC with B

ARCO

software and/or the client-server

OSA

OPERNICUS

system. This makes it possible to use the P

ULSAR

in applications such as digital to

analog nodes in super trunk systems and headends in rural or remote areas. Using the P

ULSAR

with

other remote controllable equipment, such as F

, allows the operator to have

complete control over the headend without the need to move around his technicians, thus saving a lot
of money.
