:
Only operate the projector for a few minutes while the Input & Communication unit is moved and
tilted in it’s service position. This to minimize the risk of exceeding the maximum permitted internal temper-
ature limit due to insuf
fi
cient air
fl
ow.
Description of the diagnostic LEDs

Comment
1
+1.5V OK (green)
This LED lit up in normal condition and indicates that the local gen1.5V is available. The
+1.5V is derived from the +12V which is generated by the switched mode power supply.
2
+14V OK (green)
This LED lit up in normal condition and indicates that the +14V is available.
3
+5V OK (green)
This LED lit up in normal condition and indicates that the local gen5V is available. The
+5V is derived from the +12V which is generated by the Switched mode power supply
4
+24V OK (green)
This LED lit up in normal condition and indicates that the +24V is available.
5
+3.3V OK (green)
This LED lit up in normal condition and indicates that the local gen3.3V is available. The
+3.3V is derived from the +12V which is generated by the Switched mode power supply.
6
OVERTEMP (red)
This LED only lit up in case one of the temperatures of the DMD BACK, or AMBIENT OUT, or
LAMP OUT exceeds the maximum allowed temperature. These maximum allowed temperature
values are built in the hardware of the Fan Control Board.
When this LED lit up the LPS ERROR LED should also lit up indicating that the LPS module has
been shut down by the Fan Control Board to prevent projector damage.
In other words, this is a hardware protection which switches off the lamp to prevent projector
damage in case the software protection should fail. Note that this hardware protection is the
second protection. Normally if one of these temperatures is about to exceed the hardware
maximum level the Fan Control Board (FCB) software should have noticed this before (because
the software maximum levels are lower) and command the LPS module to shut down the lamp.
See LPS ERROR below.
A short circuit (damaged wire unit) of the temperature sensor or a malfunctioning temperature
sensor also results in an OVERTEMP error.
7
LPS ERROR (red)
This LED lit up in case the Fan Control Board pulls down the line to the LPS module to shut
down the lamp. This is a hardware protection. The reason the Fan Control Board pulls down this
line is various:
•
The Fan Control Board has detected an OVERTEMP error (see above).
•
The projector runs in after cooling.
•
The projector is in Standby mode.
•
The Fan Control Board has detected an EXT WATCHDOG error or the Fan Control Board is
in boot mode. (E.g. during software update).
•
The Fan Control Board has detected that the micro switch in the Lamp House compartment is
not closed (Lamp House not inserted well).
•
The Fan Control Board has detected that the micro-switch of the Liquid Cooling reservoir is
not closed (open handle or insuf
fi
cient liquid).
8
UNDERTEMP (red)
This LED only lit up in case one of the temperatures of the DMD BACK, or AMBIENT OUT is below
the minimum allowed temperature. These minimum allowed temperature values are built in the
hardware of the Fan Control Board.
