The table below shows the temperatures which can theoretically be achieved by 
burning wood.

The heating value of wood (18.7 MJ/kg at 0% humidity) is not affected by the 
sort of wood. What does make a difference is the relative humidity of the wood
(15.6 MJ/kg at 15% humidity).
