Trouble Shooting Guide
PC Communications Error
Symptom:
When the operator enters a WO number for validation the Dispense Keypad (DK) displays:
Master / Host is
Down
Trouble Shooting Action:
1. Verify that the RS-232 cable is properly connected and secured to the PC and the
Distributed Control Keypad (DCK).
2. Verify that the Keypad Server Program (KPS) is running:
A small icon located on the lower right corner of the screen indicates the status of the KPS
program.
When the KPS program is running the icon will look like this
If KPS is not running the KPS icon will have a RED slash through it or there will be no
icon displayed in the lower right corner.
If the KPS icon has a RED slash through it, simply right click with the mouse on
the KPS icon and then left click on Start.
If no KPS icon is present go to Start/Programs/Homerider Systems/KPS/Launch
KPS and left click to bring the KPS program window to the screen.
- Then left click on the green icon to start the KPS program.
- Then minimize the KPS window and verify that the KPS icon is displayed in the lower
right corner of the screen.
