Three hyphens or dashes indicates that the calculated data cannot be displayed 

because the measured data necessary to make the calculation is out of range. For 

calculations to occur, the oxygen level must be below 16% and the stack temperature 

must be below 2,000 °F 

(1,093 °C)

.

Three stars appear in the data field of sensors that are not installed, defective, or 

found to be in error during warm-up, and also in the data fields of that sensor’s 

related  calculated  values.  For  example,  if  the  data  field  of  either  the  NO  or  NO

2

 

sensor contains three stars, then the NO

x

 data field will also contain three stars.
