10.4 Attach Car Seat to Base
1. Remove any toy or other objects attached to carry handle
before installing car seat in vehicle.
2. Check that nothing is on top of the base or anything that will
interfere with the proper latching of the Car Seat to the Base.
3. Place the Car Seat onto the Base and push down until the
Car Seat locks securely to the Base and you hear a click.

4. Pull upward on the Car Seat to check that the Car Seat is
securely locked onto the base. If the Car Seat does not
securely lock onto the Base, the Car Seat will provide NO
Protection for your child. DO NOT use the Car Seat with the
Base if it does not securely lock onto the Base. Please call
Baby Trend at 1-800-328-7363 for assistance.
5. Check that car seat is in the correct recline position based
on the weight of your child. See (Fig 44-2) and Section 11.4
Adjusting Seat Recline Angle.
6. Check that toys are removed from carry handle and then
adjust carry handle into the storage position (Fig 44-3).
10.5 Removing Car Seat from Base
1. To remove from base, raise handle to the carry position,
squeeze the base release handle located below the foot
end of the Car Seat (Fig 44-4).
3. Tighten the vehicle lap belt around the Base by
pushing down hard with your hand or knee in the
middle of the Base. Then pull the vehicle seat belt to
tighten and close Lock Off (Fig. 43-1).

4. Check that the base is tightly installed and stays
tightly installed by grasping the base near the belt
path and trying to move side-to-side (Fig. 43-2). Base
should not move more than 1 inch. If you find that the
vehicle seat belt loosens or that the or the base
does not stay tightly secured, please see Section 8.0 Selecting A Vehicle
Seat Location for the Car Seat to determine if the position you have
selected is adequate and check that you have completed all of the steps in
this section. If vehicle belt does not stay tightly adjusted around base, see
vehicle seat belts section. A locking clip may be needed or you may need
to move the base to a different seating location. DO NOT use this seating
location if the Car Seat does not remain tightly installed in the vehicle seat!
10.3.5 To Remove Base
1. Release Lock Off.
2. Remove lap belt from Vehicle Belt Path openings.
3. Remove Base.
