5.6 Noise Rejection
Noise Reject adds additional hysteresis to the trigger circuitry. By increasing the triggerhysteresis band,
the possibility of triggering on noise is reduced. However, this decreases the trigger sensitivity, requiring
a larger signal to trigger the oscilloscope.

Noise Reject
If the signal you are probing is noisy, set up the oscilloscope to reduce the noise in the trigger path and
on the displayed waveform.
First, stabilize the displayed waveform by removing the noise from the trigger path. Second, reduce the
noise on the displayed waveform.
1. Connect a signal to the oscilloscope and obtain a stable display.
2. Remove the noise from the trigger path by setting trigger coupling to
or turning
on
.
3. Set the acquisition option to
to reduce noise on the displayed waveform.
