Provision of electric wheelchairs is generally only advised where use of
manual wheelchairs is no longer possible because of the disability and
the electric wheelchair can be used properly.
2.8. Contraindications
Provision of this electric wheelchair is not suitable for children, and for
adults with:
•
severe equilibrium disorders
•
impaired and insufficient vision
•
strongly impaired cognitive abilities
•
2.9. Declaration of conformity
We Bischoff & Bischoff GmbH declare under our sole responsibility,
that the Ejoy wheelchair meets all the requirements of MDR 2017/745
that are applicable.
2.10. Service life
The expected service life of the electric wheelchair is up to five years, if
it is used correctly, and the safety, care and maintenance instructions
are followed. The electric wheelchair can be used beyond this period if
it is in a condition allowing its safe usage.
2.11. Notes on range
The range of the Ejoy is up to 35 km. The achievable range depends
on different factors:
•
condition of the road surface
•
way of driving
•
battery condition and charge
•
payload weight
•
ambient temperature
•
use of accessories
Please note that the range stated by us was calculated under test con-
ditions:
•
batteries which are as new and fully charged
•
ambient temperature of 21 °C
•
max. user weight
•
level, firm ground
•
constant driving speed
•
deactivated lighting system
We would like to point out that the following factors
will mean that the range is severely reduced.
•
poor battery charge level
•
low ambient temperature (below 10 °C)
•
frequent starting and braking
•
climbing hills
•
driving on ground which is not firm (field or forest paths)
•
incorrect or low tyre pressure (see Chapter 6)
•
electromagnetic fields (see Chapter 2.4)
With a combination of several factors the
range may be reduced by up to 50%.
Never use your electric wheelchair with empty or
almost empty batteries. You may endanger yourself
and others by stopping unexpectedly.
