Ver ify ing Your Scanner I nst allat ion
To v erify if y our scanner inst allat ion is correct , Av ision provides y ou a useful t est
program called Av ision Capt ure Tool. Wit h t his t ool, you can per for m sim ple
scans and view t he capt ured im ages. I n addit ion, it helps y ou com plet e y our
scan at a r at ed speed.
The follow ing procedure describes how t o v erify your scanner inst allat ion. I f t he
inst allat ion is not cor r ect , please r eview t he pr eceding sect ion t o check if t he
cable connect ion and scanner dr iv er have been successfully inst alled.
Befor e you begin, be sur e t he scanner is on.
1. Select St ar t > Pr ogr am s> Avision xxx Scanner > Avision Capt ur e Tool. The
Select Scanner Model dialog box w ill be displayed.
2. Select y our driv er t y pe and scanner m odel and click OK. The follow ing
Av ision Capt ure Tool dialog box w ill be display ed.
3. Choose your desir ed file for m at fr om t he File Form at drop dow n list box .
( Default is JPEG, ot her choice includes TI FF, MTI FF, PDF, MPDF, GI F, and
BMP.) The support ed file form at s vary depending on your scanner m odel.
4. Ty pe y our desired folder nam e and file nam e in t he File Pat h box. ( Default is
C: \ Docum ent s and Set t ings\ User Nam e\ My Docum ent s\ My Scan\ I m age.)
